|The Raven Queen|
|Drawn by Mike Schely|
|First Appearance||Episode 83: A Meeting with the Gods (S3-019)|
The Raven Queen is the master of the Shadowfell; the realm mortal souls go to when they die. The Raven Queen normally appears as a woman with Black hair and her holy city is Endgate.
One of the most important temples to the Raven Queen was in the City of Sha-Lai. However to secure Lolth's help in fighting against the Void, Ket H'zard gave the Raven Queen's temple grounds to Lolth. As a result, the Raven Queen abandoned her patronage of Ket H'zard in the Kobold Alley tournament.
Before the final battle with the Void Gods, the Raven Queen challenged Ket H'zard in Kobold Alley. After studying the void monsters the Raven Queen discovered that to change the void souls was to change their very nature, and The Raven Queen wanted to know what damaging her soul through the Kobold Alley tournament would do to her. The Raven Queen then made it so Ket's only choice was to win or die in a game against her, and Ket won. This caused part of the Raven Queen's soul to become part of Ket and caused the Raven Queen to become something different. Her appearance changed to that of a blonde-haired woman.
Much later on when Ket tried to contract the Raven Queen about the state of the Shadowfell, it was revealed that the entity of that name no longer exists.

The priests of the Raven Queen concern themselves primarily with the passage of the dead from the natural world into the hands of the Raven Queen. As such they are often called upon to perform funerary rights as well as ghostly exorcisms. The Lady of Ash commands her children to stamp out undead wherever they may find them, so although all priests of the Pentatheon tend to find the Undead distasteful, the Priests of the Raven Queen find them inexcusable.
Many people are weary when dealing with priests of the Raven Queen, but the fact of the matter is, you are not their concern. If you are not disturbing the dead, or undead yourself, then you have nothing to fear. That said, if you find yourself standing between a Child of Ash and their divine imperative, I recommend stepping aside.
